About Us
Mansfield Alpine Four Wheel Drive Club Inc. (MAFWDC) is a small club that started in 1987 based in Mansfield. We enjoy spending time on the tracks in the Victorian High Country and other great 4WD regions in the state. Our activities include day and weekend trips, and the occasional extended trip. We also do some volunteer work with Parks Victoria, DELWP & Four Wheel Drive Victoria (FWDV) in our region.
MAFWDC is a family oriented club and has members in varying age groups and with varying experiences. Some of our members are based in the Mansfield region but others are spread across the state. We are affiliated with Four Wheel Drive Victoria – the Victoria Association of Four Wheel Drive Clubs, and abide by their code of ethics. Public liability insurance is held through 4WD Victoria.
We have at least one general meeting (AGM) per year which is held when required at a central Mansfield venue. A dinner usually follows the meeting.
The committee meets at least 3 times per year.
Membership
MAFWDC welcomes any make of 4WD. We offer one membership for both singles and families. Our fees are paid annually by the 23rd June each year.
Membership is currently set at $80.00 per annum.
Members receive our newsletter ‘Trekabout’ throughout the year. Trekabout features 4WD hints, trip reports & upcoming trips.
Members also receive 4WD Victoria’s quarterly magazine ‘Trackwatch’.
Other communications to members is via email, this website or our members only Facebook page.
Training
All new members will need to obtain recognised 4WD training in due course or verify that they have done 4WD training.
Our Club runs Training Courses by Four Wheel Drive Victoria accredited instructors, from time to time, depending on numbers, at reasonable rates. 4WD Victoria offers driver training at discounted rates for club members.
Some club trips are suitable for members awaiting training depending on the decision of the Trip Leader. Many of our members have many years of experience with 4WDing and are only too willing to help newcomers.
